The “great holy fool” of Russian poetry would live today as a master. Her wild, spontaneous, childlike, poetic speech is an effective inoculation against the literary inertia that has tormented poets and reviewers. A student at the Literary Institute, Evgenia Korobkova, worked with Nekrasova’s archives for several years and found a number of hitherto unpublished texts, and also restored some already known poems in the author’s edition.
