Ranjit Gibson turned in his seat and leaned toward the center aisle of the charter Airbus, craning his neck to look out the window on the opposite side, which his sister was pointing at. The scenery was grand as they flew over the Olympic Valley well below the towering peaks on either side. But from his porthole the view was no less spectacular. The colossal mountains, towering caps of dazzlingly bright snow against the deep blue sky of the Griffin, evoked awe, especially among those who spent the last two years in the orbital settlement, but other than that, Ranjit did not notice anything that justified so much admiration.
