The manual demonstrates the applied value of the methods of probability theory and is intended for the course ''Algorithms of stochastic problems of fragile destruction''. It contains the provisions of the theory of fragile destruction of microinhomogeneous bodies, based on a statistical approach and using the apparatus of probability theory. This demonstrates an integrated approach based on a combination of deterministic criteria of brittle destruction and the random nature of defects. The manual provides detailed methodological instructions for the construction of algorithms for calculating the probabilistic characteristics of the strength of bodies with arbitrary stochastic distribution of defects, provided with examples. In addition, the procedure for carrying out laboratory work on a numerical experiment based on the implementation of the considered algorithms and options for tasks for laboratory work. was developed. In conclusion, a brief overview of monographs and articles that could be useful for further acquaintance with the mechanics of destruction and obtaining independent results is given.
