“The Ungrateful Stranger” is one of those books where events are not primary. Will the shining foreign land be merciful to those who are trying to grow into it and become at least a little “one of their own”? The novel received the Confederation Literary Prize (Eidgenössischer Preis für Literatur). (16+)
