The report “On the cult of personality and its consequences” (also known as “Khrushchev’s secret report at the 20th Congress of the CPSU”) was read by the First Secretary of the Presidium of the CPSU Central Committee N. S. Khrushchev at a closed meeting of the 20th Congress of the CPSU, held on February 25, 1956 .The report was devoted to the condemnation of the personality cult of J.V. Stalin, mass terror and crimes of the second half of the 1930s - early 1950s, the blame for which was placed on Stalin, as well as the problem of rehabilitation of party and military leaders repressed under Stalin.
