London: Routledge, 1975. — 140 p. — (Documents on Modern Physics). — ISBN-13: 978-0677051307; ISBN-10: 0677051301.This book is based on lectures given to third year physics undergraduates at the University of Kent, U.K., for the last five years. In it author tries to present some of the more significant of the recent advances in subnuclear physics in terms which are familiar to undergraduates. The author tries to keep mathematical details and formalism to a minimum, so anyone familiar with elementary quantum mechanics, special relativity and some nuclear physics will find the book comprehensible. Particular attention is paid to isospin and unitary symmetry; chiral symmetry, current algebra, CP violation and the unified gauge theory of weak and electromagnetic interactions are also discussed.
