This course of lectures on theoretical grammar of the French language is based on the functional-semantic concept of B. G. Gaka. According to this approach, the lectures show the polyfunctionality of grammatical forms, the asymmetry of form and content in grammar. The description of the main parts of speech and their forms is carried out taking into account the difference between nuclear and peripheral phenomena, the interaction of grammar and vocabulary, the possibility of transposition of parts of speech. The course of theoretical grammar consists of two parts: morphology and syntax.
