The course of theory and methods of teaching mathematics is designed on the basis of the requirements of the humanistic concept of education, reflecting the ideas of self-determination, self-realization of the individual, the formation of professional competence of the future specialist. In this regard, the theory and methodology of teaching mathematics (TIMOM) is proposed to be considered as a phenomenon of culture, and in the context of culture - as one of its elements. The style of scientific thinking, internal scientific norms and values are presented to students (and comprehended by them) in a social context and in conjunction with philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, the history of the development of TIMOM and mathematics. The explanatory note, educational and thematic plan, the content of the discipline, the organization of independent work and control and evaluation activities, educational, methodological and information support of the program . are given. The program was prepared at the Department of Methods of Teaching Mathematics of the Ural State Pedagogical University .
