Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato, also known as Ramchal, was born in the early 18th century in Italy, and subsequently, due to his own views and spiritual quests in Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah resonated with the Jewish community, he was expelled from Italy and lived in Amsterdam, and then in Germany. Like any Kabbalist seeking spirituality, Rabbi Moshe was inspired by the thought of settling in the Holy Land. Actually, he achieved this - and in 1743. settled in Acre. Unfortunately, the great rabbi did not live long in Eretz Israel, and he and his family died during the epidemic that was raging at that time... He was buried on the shores of Lake Kinneret, his grave is located not far from the burial place of Rabbi Akiva. One of his main works is “The Path of the Righteous” "(MESILAT YESHARIM), the translation of which into Russian was fraught with considerable difficulties, due to the extreme difficulty of conveying the entire meaning of Hebrew words in Russian. Nevertheless, having done serious work, the book “Mesilat Yesharim” became available to the Russian-speaking reader. In fact, this work belongs to the classics of the teachings of Judaism, and at that time it was not fully appreciated. A little later, however, the Vilna Gaon himself said that if he had lived during the time of Rav Moshe Chaim Luzzato, he would have been ready to walk from Vilna to Italy to become his disciple...
